“I was overwhelmed with sadness to learn about the passing of my friend and long-time business associate, Don Cornelius. Ever since I was a young man with aspirations to be in the music business, Don has been an inspiration to me as an entrepreneur and a creative force. In so many ways, he supported black music and black artists by giving us a national and international platform. He understood the music and he understood us. Nearly every R&B artists over the past forty years owes much thanks to Don Cornelius. He not only built a brand that will last for generations to come, he also inspired us to achieve greatness.”
